Nintendo’s phone apps have very different connection and account rules. A player in the Philippines should not assume that every Mario or Fire Emblem app works offline, transfers purchases in the same way or is still in service. This checklist compares Fire Emblem Heroes, Hello, Mario! and the refreshed Super Mario Run.
Current Philippine store snapshot
- Fire Emblem Heroes: Apple version 10.10.0, 6 October 2026, about 117.4 MiB and iOS 16; Google Play listed 30 September and Android 10.
- Hello, Mario!: Apple version 1.0.3, 8 April 2026, about 137.3 MiB and iOS 15; Google Play listed 23 March and Android 10.
- Super Mario Run: Apple version 3.4.3, 24 September 2026, about 606.9 MiB and iOS 15; Google Play listed 14 September and Android 10.
All six official Philippine store routes were available on 21 October. Installed totals and extra data can exceed Apple’s package figure.
Know which apps need a connection
Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Mario Run both state that internet connectivity is required to play. A downloaded story map or World Tour course should not be treated as reliably offline. Test these apps on the actual carrier before a long trip and expect sign-in or server checks.
Hello, Mario! is different: Nintendo says it works offline after the download. Install and update it on trusted Wi-Fi, then test airplane mode before relying on it for a child during travel.
Plan prepaid data and storage separately
The three Apple packages total about 861.6 MiB before additional assets, cache and temporary update space. Fire Emblem Heroes can download more data after installation. A small App Store package is therefore not a promise of a small final installation.
On prepaid service, record per-app data use before and after the first launch. Keep large downloads on trusted Wi-Fi where practical, but do not grant a third-party booster, VPN or APK installer special access to reduce data use.
Link the correct Nintendo Account
Fire Emblem Heroes can back up and share user data after it is linked to a Nintendo Account. Super Mario Run can also share save data when the same account is linked from the first start on another device. Nintendo warns that a linked account cannot simply be switched without deleting the associated game save.
Check the account email before linking on a shared family phone. Use Nintendo’s official password-reset route if needed; never send an OTP, recovery link or QR sign-in screen to a person offering game support.
Do not assume currency crosses Android and iPhone
Fire Emblem Heroes allows the same linked user across operating systems, but its FAQ says Orbs purchased or obtained on iOS cannot be used on another operating system. Check the balance and platform before moving or buying. Save screenshots of non-secret player details, not passwords or full receipts.
Super Mario Run is free to start and offers a purchase that unlocks all modes. Confirm the active Apple or Google account and the Philippine-peso total in the official store sheet. Keep the receipt for support and avoid duplicate payment while a transaction is pending.
Use family settings for the child-focused app
Hello, Mario! includes a built-in break in which Mario falls asleep; Nintendo says adults can disable it. Decide that setting deliberately and combine it with the phone’s screen-time, volume and purchase controls. The sleep feature does not lock the rest of a shared phone.
Install it under the intended adult-controlled store account and close private apps before handing over the device. Do not download an unofficial “premium” version: Nintendo’s official app is already free and supports offline play.
Remove ended services from old checklists
Nintendo states that Mario Kart Tour service ended on 29 September 2026 at 11:00 p.m. PT. An old article or store page may still appear in search, but it is no longer a current playable service. Do not pay a seller for an account, subscription or “working server” package.
Service status is separate from phone compatibility. Before installing any older live-service game, check the developer’s current announcement rather than relying on screenshots from an earlier year.
Final Philippines checklist
- Use the Philippine App Store or Google Play listing and verify the developer.
- Check the exact OS and device compatibility result.
- Budget for extra storage and first-launch data.
- Link only the intended Nintendo Account and preserve recovery access.
- Confirm the live-service status and Philippine-peso purchase prompt.
