A mobile game login loop sends you back to the sign-in screen after choosing Google, Apple, Facebook, an email account or a publisher account. It can be caused by an expired session, wrong account, blocked browser handoff, incorrect device time, app bug or server incident. Start with reversible checks and protect the existing save before clearing anything.
Identify the exact loop
Write down which button you tap, which account is shown and the exact point that returns to the game. Check the publisher’s official service notice. If many players are affected after an update, repeated password resets or reinstalls will not repair a server-side outage.
Confirm whether the game is trying to open a browser, Google Play Games, Game Center or its own account page. A guest save may be local, while a platform sign-in can select a different profile. Do not keep trying random accounts; that can create a new empty game profile and complicate support.
Run the low-risk checks first
- Close the game and reopen it.
- Restart the phone.
- Install the current game update from the official store.
- Install supported Android, iOS or iPadOS updates.
- Set date, time and time zone to automatic.
- Try once on a trusted alternate network, with any optional VPN or private DNS temporarily disabled.
Google’s official troubleshooting includes restarting, updating and checking device time. A wrong clock can break security tokens. If the login works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi, inspect the network rather than repeatedly changing the game account. Never test on an unofficial APK.
Verify the account without sharing secrets
Use the provider’s official account page to confirm you can sign in and that recovery email or phone details are current. Google notes that sign-in from a new location or device can be blocked and recommends using a familiar device and keeping the app current. Do not pay a recovery service or give anyone a password, one-time code, cookie, backup code or remote-control access.
If several Google-linked games fail, troubleshoot the Google account or Play services. If only one game fails, contact that game’s developer. For Apple-linked games, confirm the Apple Account and Game Center identity used by the existing save before signing out.
Android cache and browser handoff
Force stop the game and clear only its cache first. Also update the default browser, Android System WebView where present, Google Play Games and Google Play services through Google Play. Avoid clearing Play services storage as an early step: Google warns that this can remove saved information and require account and payment reauthentication.
Clear storage or Clear data can remove local saves, downloads and sign-in state. Use it only after confirming the game’s recovery method. Do not disable Play Protect or install an older mirror build to make a web login work.
iPhone and iPad checks
Apple recommends closing and reopening a faulty app, restarting the device and checking app and system updates before deleting it. Make sure Safari is allowed to open the publisher’s official sign-in page and that content blockers are not hiding the account window. Re-enable the blocker after a controlled test.
Deleting and redownloading can remove locally stored data. Verify the save and account link first. If the sign-in sheet displays an unfamiliar domain, cancel it and start again from the official app.
Prepare a useful support request
Send the developer the game version, phone model, operating-system version, login method, network type, time of failure and exact steps. Include a screenshot with email addresses, player identifiers, receipts and notifications redacted. State whether another network or trusted device works.
Stop repeated attempts if the account becomes locked or the provider sends an unexpected security alert. Use the provider’s official recovery route, change the password only if compromise is suspected and review the account security checklist.
