A Philippine prepaid number may receive one-time codes for a game, email, social login or platform account. If the SIM is permanently disconnected and the number is later unavailable, account recovery becomes much harder. Treat SIM activity and recovery settings as part of mobile game security, not just a load-management task.

Check the carrier’s live inactivity rule

Globe’s current support page says a prepaid SIM can expire after one year without a top-up, or after reaching zero balance and remaining inactive for 120 days without load or promo activity. It also says an expired SIM cannot be reactivated. Smart’s help page states that after the balance reaches zero, the account has 180 days to reload before disconnection.

These are carrier-specific rules and can change. Read the live terms for the exact Globe, TM, Smart, TNT or other product; do not apply one network’s deadline to another. Keep an official reload receipt or app record, and never rely on an unsolicited text claiming a shorter emergency deadline.

Map every account that uses the number

List the games, Google Account, Apple Account, email, social login and payment services that send codes to the prepaid number. For each service, note the public account ID and whether an alternate email, authenticator or backup code is available. Store that inventory somewhere other than the phone.

A game may use the number indirectly through Facebook, Google or Apple rather than as its own login. Secure the whole chain. If the primary email can be recovered only by SMS to the same SIM, losing the number can affect several games at once.

Update recovery before the SIM is disconnected

While the number still works, sign in through the service’s official app or typed web address and add a supported alternate recovery method. Confirm the new method before removing the old one. Use a strong unique password and two-step verification that does not depend only on one SIM where the service permits it.

Inside each game, verify its supported account binding and record the non-secret player ID, server and region. Guest saves may remain only on the device. Do not clear data, reinstall or change phones until the publisher’s account link is confirmed.

If the number has already stopped working

Contact the carrier through its official app, website, hotline or store and ask for the exact account status. Globe states that permanently expired prepaid SIMs cannot be reactivated; Smart says a disconnected account requires a new prepaid SIM. Do not pay a social-media seller who promises to “recover” or reserve an expired number.

Use each platform’s official account-recovery route and provide only the evidence it requests. Purchase receipts, a player ID and prior device details may help, but never send a password, one-time code, full card number or remote-control access. If a number could be reassigned, remove it from recovered accounts promptly.

A simple Philippine maintenance routine

  • Check prepaid status and official carrier terms monthly.
  • Keep enough valid activity under the exact product rules.
  • Review recovery email, authenticator and backup codes quarterly.
  • Bind important game progress before repair, reset or phone replacement.
  • Open carrier and game support from saved official links, not SMS links.

SIM registration proves the subscriber identity required by Philippine law; it does not automatically preserve an inactive number forever or recover a game account. The mobile game account security guide covers password and two-step verification basics.
